This is the first novel and the beginning of Henry and Josie's adventure in Fairyland.
The children find themselves on a quest to discover where the stone steps from Fingal's Cave lead. After a stormy voyage across from the Isle of Staffa, Henry and Josie step through Co. Antrim's Black Arch and into a magical Fairyland.
Learn about place names from a clever, little mouse named William and listen to the local tale of Marina Jane. Can Henry and Josie pluck up the courage to deliver an important message to Lady Isabella, the ghost of Ballygally Castle?
A fictional novel with reference to landmarks and folklore from the Drains Bay, Carnfunnock and Ballygally area. Follow-up books in the series take the adventure further along the coast, to where the children finally reach their destination and solve the mystery of Fingal's stone steps. A fun section on local information and place name meanings is also included.
The reading level is suitable for children from around eight years old, however can be enjoyed by younger children and adults too.

Henry and Josie
Henry and Josie are twins who love to explore. Josie can become a little grumpy at times and stamps her feet. Henry is always full of bright ideas, but is he as brave as he thinks?
Twilight
'Oh bless my bottle nose!'
Twilight is a friendly and caring dolphin. Her school of dolphins arrived in Co. Antrim a long time ago to help those caught up in storms at sea. She believes we should take our time, enjoy the beauty around us and make lots of friends.
Polar Bear
If you would like a chat with this special rock you must listen carefully, as his voice is only a very soft whisper. Polar Bear has watched over the bay of Ballygally for centuries and would love to share a yarn or two. But he needs help fast... the crashing waves are giving his rock a battering!
Lady Isabella
Poor Lady Isabella, the ghost of Ballygally Castle, has led a lonely life locked up in her turret. She has become angry over the years and created many storms at sea. She is a kind ghost at heart really and speaks with a slow, crackling voice.
The kind man
The kind man likes to cycle around and chat to people about his travels. He loves the sea and the mountains and has many a local tale to tell.

William
A clever, little mouse with a shiny key. He is full of advice, but squeaks ever so fast. Words totally amaze William! He especially loves looking for little words hiding inside big words. William was over the moon to find 'Liam' hiding in his own name. He keeps a long list of place name meanings and is keen for you to add to his growing collection.
